Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) is a wing of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Government of India. WPC is responsible for regulating the use and application of radio equipment imported or manufactured in India. WPC grants approval for the network, non-network, and device types to be used in India. All types of wireless services and devices are authorized by WPC. Some of them include GSM, FM broadcasting, radar, satellite broadcasting, RC flying toys, dealer license, etc. WPC has also regulated the import of wireless devices for commercial applications or demonstrations.
EQUIPMENT TYPE APPROVAL
Equipment Type Approval (ETA) is a permit that must be obtained from WPC before importing wireless devices into India that do not require a WPC LICENSE and operate in the frequency band without a license. These devices include products such as Bluetooth devices, mobile phones, Wi-Fi technology, RFID, and others. Some frequency bands have received unlicensed status, so products operating on these frequencies do not require a WPC license. To receive an ETA, the WPC must receive a detailed test report for equipment received from a recognized laboratory for evaluation. We help our customers test their equipment and receive the test report in the correct format to send to WPC. The deadline for this entire process is approximately two or three weeks.
Once a request has been submitted to the WPC office, the agency will review the documents in advance. As soon as WPC accepts the request, it verifies the documents and asks questions if necessary. After a further correction by the claimant, WPC will be subject to a fair trial and will award the ETA.
What is the method of obtaining an ETA?

What approvals does WPC grant?

The WPC certification process is relatively simple compared to other types of certification. There is only one registration, inspection, and testing of the product, but these must be performed by accredited testing laboratories. There is no factory inspection.
A WPC license issued is valid for the life of the product. In the event of a product change, a new license must be requested.
